About Our Society
Our story
Formed only a few years ago, UEA Indian Society is relatively new, yet we have grown to become one of the largest cultural societies in East Anglia. For many, our society feels like a home away from home, where our members know they can come for support or a helping hand.
Throughout the years, we have held massive events such as our annual Diwali Ball and regular Desi Vibes club nights. We have represented our university at Just Bollywood and held classes for variety of Indian dance forms.
As well as being a socially active society, we aspire to spread awareness and educate others about the hardships we as a people have faced and still face to this day through articles written by our members. We can all become better educated on Indian history and culture, so we hope that we are able to share what defines us and learn from each other to appreciate our history and where we come from.
